Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko says the military personnel involved in combat operations in the Donbas are to be supplied with brand new field rations developed in line with the NATO standards.

"Our servicemen in the Donbas will have new field rations developed in line with NATO standards: seven different individual meal packs for each day of the week. From now on, if a serviceman has no field kitchen within reach, one will still have an opportunity to receive an adequate, high-quality and balanced nutrition," Poroshenko wrote on social media, Censor.NET reports.

"The enhanced menu includes first and second courses, dried fruits, chocolate, jam, honey, coffee, etc. The MRE retort pouches also include flameless heaters for warming up the meals. The new rations are unmatched by the previous ones that didn’t even come close to this variety and quality not to mention the time when I was doing my compulsory military service," the president added and published the pictures of the new meals ready to eat.
