Ukraine’s Security Service collected testimonies of almost 500 Ukrainian citizens who were subject to physical torture and psychological abuse when held hostage in the self-styled "Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics" also known as "DPR" and "LPR"

As reported by Censor.NET citing the statement by the SBU press service, the agency collected testimonies of almost 500 Ukrainian nationals about specific facts of physical torture and psychological abuse while they were in captivity of the "DPR"/"LPR" terrorists.

"We call on all human rights organizations to assist former hostages of the Russian terrorist groups in drafting relevant motions to the ECHR," the statement reads.

The press service stressed that the SBU acts solely within the scope of the country’s applicable law: all investigative actions with detainees are carried out in accordance with the norms of the Criminal Procedure Code which is confirmed by the findings of inspections held by the members of international human rights organizations.
