French Senate recognizes Holodomor as genocide of Ukrainian people

The Senate of France decides to recognize the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

On March 28, 2023, the National Assembly (the lower house of the French parliament) recognized the Holodomor as genocide.
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba thanked the senators for the "historic vote" that restores justice and honors the memory of millions of victims.
"The French Senate has just recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people. I am grateful to the French senators for this historic vote that restores justice and honors the memory of millions of victims. Such crimes should never be repeated and never be forgotten," Kuleba wrote on Twitter.
