"The Holosiivsky District Court of Kyiv sent Iryna Alekseenko, deputy head of the Desniany District Administration, under 24-hour house arrest. According to the police, she is responsible for the fact that the polyclinic shelter was closed on the night of June 1," the message reads.
Iryna Oleksienko herself denied guilt. In her opinion, monitoring the condition of shelters was not part of her duties. People's deputy from "Servants of the People" Bohdan Yaremenko and three deputies of the Kyiv City Council came to take her on bail.
Also, the court sent the second suspected director of polyclinics Oleh Shuhalevych under house arrest for two months.
According to the investigation, he did not monitor the work of the shelter, as a result on June 1, during a rocket attack, it turned out to be closed and two women and a child died.
Shugalevich himself denies guilt. According to his version, the shelter worked around the clock and normally. According to the director, the guard who did not open the door is responsible. After the explosion, Shugalevich spoke with the security guard. At the court, he recounted their conversation.
Vasyl Desik, the deputy director of the Desnian polyclinic for technical issues, was also sent under 24-hour house arrest. According to the prosecutor's office, he is also responsible for the operation of the shelter.
Desik pleaded not guilty. Like his boss, he stated that the shelter worked normally, but the guard did not fulfill his duties and did not open the door in time.
Vadym Mishkin, a 62-year-old security guard at the Desniany hospital, was sent to the pre-trial detention center for two months by the court.
He pleaded guilty but said he committed the crime unintentionally. According to him, when the alarm sounded, he went to open the shelter in the basement of the polyclinic. Then he went to the entrance to the building to open the door. At that moment there was an explosion. According to him, he ran out of time.
