Zelensky responded to Putin’s words about "shame of Jewish people": "Second king of anti-Semitism after Hitler"
He stated this in an interview with the BBC, Censor.NET reports.
The journalist asked the president about his reaction to Putin's words last week that Zelensky allegedly "is a disgrace to the Jewish people."
According to the interviewer, Zelensky took a deep breath, lowered his head, and after a few seconds said that he was not quite sure how to answer the question.
"It's as if he (Putin. - Ed.) doesn't fully understand his words. I'm sorry, but it's like he's the second king of anti-Semitism after Hitler... This is what the president is saying. The civilized world cannot speak like that. But it was important for me to hear the world's reaction, and I am grateful for the support," Zelensky said.
It will be recalled that earlier, during a speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Putin stated that he has many Jewish friends since childhood, who allegedly claim that "Zelensky is not a Jew, but a shame of the Jewish people."
