The co-owner of ex-Minister Maksym Stepanov’s company, which receives millions from the Ministry of Defence, has a daughter with suspicious income and a wife who allegedly holds a Russian passport.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the Anti-Corruption Center.

"It's much worse than that. UAH 185 million from the Ministry of Defence was not just given to the firm of former Minister Maksym Stepanov, who was charged by NABU with embezzlement. The co-owner of the company is the former head of the Southern Directorate of the State Border Guard Service, Lieutenant General Serhii Kosik (pictured right).

"We at the AntAC took a closer look at Mr Kosik and this is what we found out. Kosik's wife is most likely a Russian citizen. Using her passport number, we found an individual tax number for Nina Vladimirovna Kosik. Kosik's wife has the same initials. And the general's 23-year-old daughter bought a luxury property in the center of Kyiv worth $300,000. It is not very clear where the daughter of a border guard got such money from," the ACC notes.
