About a thousand civilians remain in the embattled city of Avdiivka in Donetsk region. The authorities are calling for evacuation for safety.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk during a telethon, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.
"Avdiivka. Now, according to our data, about 1,000 people still live there," she said.
Vereshchuk noted that, according to the Donetsk regional state administration, there are no children among the civilian population in Avdiivka today.
She urged people to evacuate the town for safety.
