The illegal deportation of 20,000 Ukrainian children has been officially confirmed.

The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, the Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk told about this in an interview with the Voice of America, Censor.NET informs.

"I can use official data. 20,000 are children we know: where they are, what is with them, and we are trying to return them. Almost 4,500 of them are orphans.
This is very important, because when the child is parental, either the father, or mother, or direct relatives can pick it up. And orphans are under the care of the state, and the state is 100% responsible for their safety," said Vereshchuk.

At the same time, she confirmed that Russia could illegally deport hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian children. Vereshchuk emphasized that the forcible deportation of children from Ukraine and the change of their identity have the characteristics of genocide, and all those involved in this should be held accountable under international law.
