"Servant of People" Venislavskyi: Terms of demobilization from military service are being discussed in Verkhovna Rada
This was stated by the People's Deputy of the "Servant of the People", the President's representative in the Verkhovna Rada Fedir Venislavskyi, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"These are the most difficult issues discussed at the committee level. There have been proposals to determine after which period of military service under mobilization a citizen will be eligible for demobilization. However, I have repeatedly noted that there are virtually no examples in world history of full demobilization during a full-scale invasion," the parliamentarian explained.
At the same time, he emphasized that people who have been part of Ukraine's security and defense forces since the first days of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war should "understand some guidelines for their further service."
"We are discussing this issue. It is proposed to provide for the possibility of demobilization within 36 months of mobilization service. There are other proposals. We are discussing this issue," added the member of the Rada Defense Committee.
In addition, Venislavskyi informed that the committee is considering the issue of discharging conscripts to the reserve. The People's Deputy clarified that the current Ukrainian legislation regulating military service and military duty does not provide for the discharge of conscripts during the legal regime of martial law.
"We partially resolved this issue last summer, when we provided conscripts with the opportunity to transfer to contract service and serve fully in the security and defense sector. As for the general discharge to the reserve, this issue is also being discussed. At the moment, I cannot say that it has already been resolved," he summarized.
