Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey to sign an agreement on Black Sea demining
This was announced today by the Minister of National Defence of Turkey Yashar Güler, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"As part of the Tripartite Initiative, launched under the leadership of our country to counter mine threats in the Black Sea, we held the third round of the Black Sea Mine Action Task Force meeting with delegations from Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania on 22-23 November at our ministry. We are also planning to hold a signing ceremony in Istanbul on 11 January 2024 with the participation of the defence ministers of the three countries," said Yashar Güler.
The Turkish minister also stressed that restoring peace and stability in the Black Sea is important for the whole world, especially for the littoral states.
"As Turkey, we are carefully, responsibly and impartially implementing the Montreux Straits Convention, which ensures balance in the Black Sea, and we are determined to implement it," he said.
