Bill on mobilization will not be voted on in its current form, - OP
Mykhailo Podoliak, the advisor to the head of the Presidential Office, said this on the air of the national marathon "Yedyni novyny", Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"The war that we have today on the territory of Ukraine requires proper legal registration of mobilization processes. Because the law that is used today does not correspond to current realities. That is why it is very good that there is a discussion at the level of the General Staff, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Finance, or the Cabinet of Ministers as a whole, at the level of the specialized committees of the Rada, at the level of the expert community. This is the right thing to do. Because legal changes need to be made to this law, which means through the relevant draft law. Will it be in this form? No, it won't. Of course, this is why a certain draft law is introduced - for discussion. After everything is taken into account, appropriate changes will be made, and we will get a more or less optimal draft law that takes into account that we are in a long, large-scale, intense war, and Russia will not stop there, it will keep pushing until it loses this war. We have to take all this into account," Podoliak said.
He also noted that in a democratic society, there is always room for discussion, and this allows for the most effective results.
"Even though, traditionally for Ukraine, there is a lot of hate, toxicity, and scandals at first, but gradually, you will see that this draft law will be regulated so that it contains the right regulatory positions. After that, of course, the parliament will vote on it in the first and second reading, and we will have a new law on mobilization," Podoliak said.
Podolyak also stressed that the whole society must understand that a great war is going on in Ukraine.
"If Russia does not lose this war, it will want to establish an occupation regime here with the corresponding tragic consequences for tens or hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian citizens. We need to realize this," added the advisor to the head of the OP.
