Hostilities in Lyman-Kupiansk direction are going on almost around clock, enemy is actively using aviation and guided bomb units for maximum damage - Land Forces
Volodymyr Fito, a spokesman for the Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this on the air of the telethon, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"Our defenders repelled enemy attacks in the Kupiansk and Lyman directions. 15 attacks were repelled near the settlements of Synkivka and Makiivka in the Luhansk region. The enemy launched 13 air strikes using the entire arsenal of aviation, including the use of guided bomb units. 19 kamikaze drones were launched at our defenders. There were 618 artillery attacks in this area. 257 Russian soldiers did not celebrate New Year's Eve. Also, 43 units of military equipment were destroyed, including three tanks and 5 armored infantry fighting vehicles," said Fito.
He added that military operations in the Kupiansk and Lyman directions are taking place almost around the clock. Thanks to Ukrainian defenders, the enemy has not achieved any success in these areas.
According to Fito, the enemy is also actively using aviation, guided bomb units in this area to maximize damage.
At the same time, in the Kupiansk direction, near Synkivka, the enemy continues to advance along the same routes where its forces have already been destroyed.
According to the spokesman, 10 hostile attacks were repelled in the Bakhmut direction near Bohdanivka and Andriivka over the last day. The enemy carried out one air strike and used 27 kamikaze drones.
There were 435 shell attacks, 160 Russian occupants were killed, and Russian troops lost 60 pieces of military equipment, including one tank, 2 infantry fighting vehicles and 2 UAV control centers.
"Our defenders are tracking UAV launches and trying to reduce the number of Russians who are skilled at using FPV drones against us," Fito said.
He added that the enemy continues to try to advance in the direction of Chasiv Yar in order to reach the borders of other cities and the borders of Donetsk region. According to Fito, the front in this area is active, the enemy has not achieved any significant success.
"The frontline is active, our defenders are in active defense, moving to offensive actions at the best opportunity, improving their tactical position, so the enemy has not made any progress in this area," emphasized Fito.
