Ukrainian troops repel seven enemy attacks in Kupiansk direction during January 3 – Land Forces
Volodymyr Fito, the head of the public relations service of the Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this on the air of the nationwide telethon "United News", Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Group (OSG), our defenders repelled seven enemy attacks in the Kupiansk direction and six in the Bakhmut direction. In the Lyman direction, the enemy is now regrouping, pulling up reserves and preparing to continue offensive actions," said Fito.
According to him, the enemy tried to storm near Synkivka, east of Petropavlivka, yesterday. They dropped guided aerial bombs on Serebrianskyi forestry, conducted 7 air strikes, used Su-34, Su-35, and fire support helicopters. It also conducted 11 drone strikes and fired 445 artillery rounds at Ukrainian positions with artillery and mortars of various calibers.
"Nevertheless, our defenders managed to kill or wound 133 Russian occupants and destroy 37 units of Russian equipment, including two armored combat vehicles and two D-30 cannons," said Fito.
In the Kupiansk direction, near Synkivka, the enemy continues to try to advance, following the paths where Ukrainian defenders have repeatedly destroyed the occupiers and their equipment.
In the Bakhmut direction, combat actions continued near Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, the enemy is trying to advance towards Chasiv Yar, 15 kamikaze drones were used against Ukrainian positions, 358 artillery attacks were made.
As added by Fito, 101 Russian occupants were eliminated in this area, 41 units of military equipment were destroyed.
According to him, the entire area of responsibility of Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Group (OSG) remains active. In those places where active hostilities are not currently taking place, the enemy is regrouping and pulling up reserves. According to Fito, the only thing that can slightly reduce their activity is a severe cold snap.
Overall, according to Fito, enemy losses in the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Group (OSG) amounted to 14,265 personnel and 1,236 pieces of military equipment in December, including 163 tanks, over 300 armored vehicles and more than 200 cannons and mortars damaged and destroyed.
