Enemy became active again in Lyman direction. Number of assaults is at same level as before cold weather - Ground troops
Volodymyr Fitio, spokesman for the command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this on the broadcast of the Yedyni Novyny telethon, answering questions about the Kupyan direction, Censor.NET informs with reference to Ukrinform.
"In this direction yesterday, our defenders repelled 5 enemy attacks - this is the town of Sinkivka. And in the Lyman direction, 6 enemy attacks were repelled near Terni and Vesely. In this direction, the enemy launched 4 airstrikes and used 16 kamikaze drones, launched 475 artillery shells, 141 Russian occupiers were destroyed," Fityo emphasized.
The spokesman noted that in the Lyman direction, the military captured several soldiers of the Russian army during the day and destroyed 50 pieces of equipment, including 4 tanks, 4 IFVs, and 3 APCs.
"This destroyed equipment shows that the enemy has become active again. The number of attacks reaches the level that was before the great cold. We see that (the Russian Federation - Ed.) is actively using equipment to organize its attacks. And some success on the Russians have not reached this direction," Fityo informed.
According to him, unfortunately, the Civil Code of the Russian Federation is working and the Russians still have a large amount of equipment in storage.
"Those units that have suffered losses are being withdrawn, other units are being set up, accordingly, which are also equipped with equipment. As we can see, they still protect equipment more, because, unlike equipment, human resources, which will mindlessly go on attacks, they have enough.
Only we destroy a certain number of Russian occupiers, and the next day fresh forces are already standing at (those positions. - Ed.) That is, they equip themselves normally. Their staffing is sufficiently high, and this allows them to carry out rotations and, accordingly, keep a certain number of personnel in positions," he said.
Answering a question about the prospect of a Russian offensive in the Kharkiv direction, the spokesman noted that the Ukrainian military is monitoring the situation with the quantitative composition of the Russians in the Kupyan direction.
"We understand that the enemy wants to capture all of Ukraine, not only Kharkiv. But the enemy's "wants" and its capabilities are completely different things," Fitio said.
Previously, Fitio reported that a "parking lot" of burnt equipment of the occupiers had already formed in the Kupiansk direction.
