Krokhmalne is completely destroyed, Russians had "fun night" there - Land Forces
According to Censor.NET, Volodymyr Fitio, head of the public relations service of the Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this on the air of Radio Svoboda.
"This is a small village where 45 people lived before the large-scale Russian invasion. This village has been completely destroyed, so there is no one left there. And it was no longer possible for our defenders to stay to defend some ruins, as it would have endangered their lives. For this purpose, better, more protected positions were set up, and they moved to them. There were no civilians there at all. And Krokhmalne as such no longer exists. Because all the houses there are almost destroyed," said Fitio.
The Russians are now under constant shelling in Krokhmalne. The withdrawal to new positions allows the Ukrainian military to "attack at the best opportunity".
"Our defenders are in active defence, and this gives us the opportunity to move to attacking actions at the best opportunity, as well as to improve our tactical position. Therefore, we should not make a tragedy out of this. This decision is primarily aimed at saving the lives of Ukrainian servicemen," explained Fitio.
According to him, the Russians had already had a "fun night", and therefore their desire to go out somewhere "automatically decreased". He did not say what he meant by that.
