Ukraine to demonstrate demining system with artificial intelligence by mid-summer - Svyrydenko
This was stated by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko at the opening of the photo exhibition "People, Teams and Technologies for Mine Safety in Ukraine," Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"We cooperate with Palantir (an American corporation, a world leader in the development of data analysis software - ed.) They help us develop an approach to demining using artificial intelligence. We use this to predict areas that need demining and identify the most dangerous areas. I think that by about mid-summer we will be able to demonstrate approaches based on artificial intelligence data to build a proper demining system," Svyrydenko said.
She noted that this will be a revolutionary approach, but Ukraine is doing many things for the first time.
"If this experience is successful, we will be able to disseminate it globally to promote mine safety activities," the Vice Prime Minister said.
According to Svyrydenko, the government would like to attract more innovations to the demining market. To this end, it is planned to hold a hackathon for Ukrainian teams that can offer ideas and provide them with funding proposals.
"If these people do not have experience with our bureaucratic system, we would like to support them to get more drones for demining and expand this experience," she added.
