SAPO exposes organised group headed by ex-advisor to Presidential Office Shylo that seized UAH 94.8 million in procurement of transformers for "Ukrzaliznytsia". PHOTO

In the headline to the news item, the SAPO claims that an organised group headed by a former advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine has been exposed. The text does not further mention the links between the leader of the organised group and the OP.
The investigation established that the organised group was created in 2021 to control the funds of "Ukrzaliznytsia" JSC.
As noted, during June-December 2022, the head of the organized group, through controlled officials of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia", ensured the selection of a predetermined company as a supplier of power transformers. The transformers were supplied at an inflated price. A letter "On threats to state security" was used as a basis for rejecting the proposals of other bidders with much more favourable price conditions.
"At the same time, the head of the organised group deliberately ignored the citizenship of the controller of the company that "won" the tender and his ties to Russia.
It was established that the transformers themselves were purchased through a shell company from a manufacturer partially owned by legal entities from Russia and resold to Ukrzaliznytsia at twice the price," the SAPO said.
As a result, "Ukrzaliznytsia" suffered losses of UAH 94.8 million, which were seized by the offenders.
The leader, co-organiser and two members of the organised group were detained.
Preliminary legal classification: Part 3 Article 27, Part 5 Article 191, Part 5 Article 27, Part 5 Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
"NABU and SAPO have detained one of the most important Chekist in Tatarov's vertical, according to my information, it is Artem Shylo. The same Shylo who controlled Ukrzaliznytsia, where detectives found this corruption story right during the invasion. This is the same Shylo who was recently removed from a high position by Zelenskyy's decision and after that pressure was put on the gambling company, which was also overseen by Shylo. I sincerely hope that he will finally speak up and surrender the vertical of the Tatar oppression of milking business during the war. It would be truly results-orientated. I am not joking. This is really a very steep turn in history," Nikolov writes.
It should be noted that, according to media reports, Shylo was a freelance advisor to the Presidential Office.
