The Ministry of Culture has confirmed the status of TV channels participating in the "United News" telethon as critically important for the functioning of the economy and the livelihoods of the population during the special period.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the orders of the Ministry of Culture, it was established that LLC "We-Ukraine" (TV channel "We-Ukraine"), LLC "TRC "Studio 1+1" (TV channel "1+1"), LLC "MK TRC" (TV channel ICTV), PrJSC "TV channel "Inter" (TV channel "Inter") State Enterprise "Parliamentary TV Channel "Rada" (TV channel "Rada") and Joint Stock Company "National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine" (TV channel "Suspilne Novyny") meet the criteria of enterprises, institutions and organisations that are critical for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the vital activity of the population during a special period, and confirmed this status.

This status has also been granted and confirmed since the beginning of 2024: the representative office of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the Ukrainian National News Agency Ukrinform, Novy Kanal LLC, Starline Media LLC, STB TV Channel LLC, Khmarochos Media LLC, UNIAN TV LLC, the representative office of Deutsche Welle, TET TV Company, NBM TV Company LLC, as well as the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine and a number of other enterprises, institutions and organisations under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture.

In January 2024, the acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy Rostyslav Karandieiev said that reservations for conscripted cultural workers who are not employees of strategic enterprises, institutions and organisations are impossible and are not being made. At the same time, he noted that the ministry has provided reservations for 50% of persons liable for military service in each cultural and information institution that belongs to the strategic direction.
