Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal responded to the petition calling for the funds from the Single Telethon to be redirected to the needs of the Armed Forces.

According to Censor.NET, this is stated in Shmyhal's response to the petition.

"Since ensuring information security is part of the state policy in the field of national security and defence, and the implementation of a unified information policy is a priority issue of national security, the financing of relevant measures is an important component of countering the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, in particular in the information space. Accordingly, it is not appropriate to redistribute the expenditures specified in the petition by allocating them to the needs of other components of the security and defence sector," the Prime Minister explained.

At the same time, Shmyhal added, the Government is constantly working on a systematic basis to attract and direct financial, logistical and other resources, including international assistance, to meet the needs and increase the capacity of the Armed Forces and other components of the security and defence sector, build military engineering and fortifications, protect critical infrastructure, supply new and modernise existing weapons, military and other equipment to carry out activities related to countering Russian aggression.

As a reminder, on 1 April, a petition on the Cabinet of Ministers' website calling for the funds intended for the "United News" telethone and "FreeDom" TV channel to be redirected to finance UAVs and pick-up trucks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine received the required number of votes for consideration.
