Ukraine has right to defend itself against Russia. Remember, this is region where Russians attack Ukrainians - White House
The US wants to know more about the operation in the Kursk region, but supports Ukraine's "reasonable" actions to stop Russian attacks.
According to Censor.NET, citing Voice of America, this was stated by White House spokesperson Karin Jean Pierre during a briefing.
She declined to comment on whether Ukraine used American weapons in the attack, but reminded that the US policy of prohibiting strikes across the border between Ukraine and Russia remains unchanged.
At the same time, Jean Pierre stressed that Ukraine has the right to defend itself against Russia and added that the United States will continue to support Ukraine in its efforts to defend itself against Russian aggression.
"We have to remember that there are Russian troops in this region [Kursk region - ed.] They are there, attacking Ukraine from this region. We must not forget about this," the official said.
She assured that the US will continue to support Ukraine as it defends itself against Russian aggression.
"We will continue to do so. And they [Ukrainians - ed.] will take common sense actions to protect themselves from these attacks," the White House spokeswoman said.
