Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is open to discussing a ceasefire agreement in Ukraine with Donald Trump, but rejects any serious territorial concessions and insists that Kyiv abandon its aspirations to join NATO.

This was reported by Reuters, citing sources familiar with the Kremlin's vision, Censor.NET informs.

The article notes that Russia controls a part of Ukraine roughly the size of the US state of Virginia and keeps advancing.

Freezing of war

According to the sources, the Kremlin may agree to a freeze on the war along the frontline.

"There may be room for negotiations on the exact division of the four eastern regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson... Russia may also be open to withdrawing from relatively small parts of the territory it controls in Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions, in the north and south of Ukraine," the article says.

If a ceasefire is not reached, the two interlocutors said, Russia will continue to fight.

Without NATO, but with security guarantees

At the same time, Russia opposes Ukraine's accession to NATO or the presence of NATO troops in Ukraine, but is allegedly open to discussing security guarantees for Kyiv.

Other concessions that the Kremlin may seek include Ukraine's agreement to limit the size of its armed forces and a commitment not to restrict the use of the Russian language.

Occupied Crimea

The future of Crimea itself is not being discussed, Russian officials said.
