Kyiv City Council increases budget payments for prosthetics and car re-equipment, - Klytschko
At today's meeting, the Kyiv City Council will vote on amendments to the program "Support for Kyiv residents - Defenders of Ukraine" to increase funding for the manufacture of prostheses and car conversion for veterans with disabilities.
This was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klytschko in Telegram, Censor.NET reports.
"The capital continues to help both our soldiers at the front and veterans returning from the war. Today, the Kyiv City Council is to consider changes to the city's targeted program "Support for Kyiv residents - Defenders of Ukraine". It is about co-financing of prostheses with increased functionality for Kyiv residents who are defenders of Ukraine. The amendments to the program also include compensation for the conversion of cars for people with disabilities," said Vitalii Klytschko.
The mayor noted that the capital will pay for the manufacture of prostheses in addition to state aid.
"Modern prostheses are an opportunity to improve the quality of life for people who have been disabled while defending Ukraine. The maximum cost paid by the state is up to UAH 2 million. Kyiv will additionally pay for the manufacture of prostheses with high functionality and comfort. Up to UAH 1.5 million per person," Klitschko emphasized.
He also said that Kyiv has been providing compensation for the purchase of a car for a year. However, often a person already has a car, but cannot use it because they do not have the funds to re-equip it. Now, veterans will be able to receive compensation from the city for re-equipping their cars, the mayor emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that according to the agreements between Vitalii Klytschko and Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner, the Berlin-Kyiv Prosthetics Center is being established in Kyiv on the basis of one of the municipal hospitals.
