RF attacks Ukraine with Oreshnik ballistic missile, it was its test, - Putin. VIDEO
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that Russia had tested a medium-range ballistic missile on 21 November, which it called Oreshnik. It was used to hit the Dnipro.
He said this in an address to Russians, Censor.NET reports.
According to Putin, Russia allegedly launched a combined strike on a Ukrainian defence facility in response to US and British strikes on Russia.
"The use of the Oreshnik system was a response to the US decision to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty," the Kremlin leader said.
Putin said that the world allegedly has no counterweapons to counter Russian Oreshnik missiles.
The Oreshnik missile is designed to deliver nuclear warheads. However, according to the Russian dictator himself, it was a ballistic missile in non-nuclear hypersonic configuration.
"We will offer Ukrainian civilians to leave the danger zone in advance when missiles are used," Putin cynically said.
He also said that Russia would use weapons against the targets of those countries that allow their weapons to be used against Russian targets.
"The missiles attack the target at a speed of 10 mach, which is 2.5-3 kilometers per second. The current air defense systems available in the world and the missile defense systems being created by the Americans in Europe do not intercept such missiles. It is impossible," Putin said.
"Russia will resolutely and answer with mirror measures," the Kremlin leader added.

Russia launches intercontinental ballistic missile
On 21 November 2024, the Air Force announced that Russian troops had launched an intercontinental ballistic missile strike.
At the same time, the West has not yet confirmed such use.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Russia had used a new missile.
The EU said that Russia's use of an intercontinental ballistic missile against Ukraine is another escalation by the Kremlin and shows that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has no intention of holding peace talks, but is playing a "nuclear gambit."
