The CNN source believes that Russia has only a small number of such experimental missiles.
According to the unnamed official, Ukraine has withstood "countless attacks" by Russians, including missiles with "much larger warheads" than the experimental ballistic missiles.
CNN suggested that the American official was referring to the FAB-1500 used by the Russian occupiers against Ukraine.
