NABU investigates Tyshchenko’s illicit enrichment of over UAH 30 million. His property was seized
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) is currently investigating the alleged illicit enrichment of MP Mykola Tyshchenko by more than UAH 30 million, as well as the facts of his false declaration. According to the investigation, the property was registered to the former owner of the Velour restaurant, Serhii Vakalchuk.
According to Censor.NET, this is stated in the decisions of the High Anti-Corruption Court and confirmed by the interlocutors of Slovo i Dilo in law enforcement agencies.
As indicated, in April 2024, the NABU began investigating a case in which the facts of alleged enrichment of MP Tyshchenko in the amount of more than UAH 30 million and false declarations are being investigated. In particular, thedetectives are investigating the facts that Vakalchuk, the former director of the Velour restaurant, received an apartment of almost 100 square meters in Kyiv in a house at 43 Pavlo Skoropadskoho Street, where the restaurant used to be located; two land plots and a 322-square-meter house in Kozyn, near Kyiv, as well as a 2016 Mercedes-Benz V250 worth UAH 1.62 million.
According to detectives, Vakalchuk received property worth almost UAH 9 million, but its market value is even higher. An analysis of his income showed that he could not have acquired such property. In addition, Bihus.info journalists recorded that Vakalchuk's property was used by MP Tyshchenko and his wife.
Therefore, detectives received temporary access to items that were seized by investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation during searches of Tyshchenko and his wife as part of the case of beating a military officer in Dnipro. In particular, to Tyshchenko's cell phones, some of which he broke during the search; cash in the amount of $491,550 and 390,100 euros, as well as an Audemars Piguet wristwatch. The NABU requested that this property be seized as it was material evidence in the case. The court arrested it.
