Mark Rutte: NATO must change trajectory of Russian-Ukrainian war

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that NATO countries should increase support for Ukraine in order to "change the trajectory" of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to The Guardian.

"Our support for Ukraine helps them continue to fight, but we need to go further to change the trajectory of the conflict," Rutte said during a meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

According to the Secretary General, NATO countries need to provide Ukraine with critical air defense and fulfill all the commitments made at the Alliance Summit in Washington.

"A new command, the NATO Security Assistance and Training Coordination Unit (NSATU), a financial commitment of 40 billion euros in 2024, and further measures to bring Ukraine closer to NATO," Rutte added.

Emphasizing the importance of strengthening the bloc's "deterrence and defense," the Alliance Secretary General also noted that it is critical to increase investment and production in the defense industry.
