Defective mines: batch of low-quality 82-mm mines was seized from frontline, - journalist. DOCUMENT
After the situation with the low-quality 120mm mines was publicised, a batch of 82mm mortar rounds, which also turned out to be defective, was withdrawn from the frontline.
This was reported by journalist Yulia Kyrienko-Merinova, Censor.NET informs.
"This is an order to remove mines from the frontline. And not just 120mm mines. The same problem with 82 mm mines!!! The same defect. The same manufacturer. These are hundreds of thousands of shells that the frontline will be without," she said.
"Mortars are the main weapon of the battalions. Mortar launchers and drone operators are the first to work when the enemy infantry assaults at our positions. So what does it mean, are we plunging into a shell famine again?
Back in the summer, I wrote about the shortage of mines. I wrote that brigades are given 10 of them per week at most. And that was it. Then they heard me. They tried to solve the problem and develop their own. But how? They have invested Ukrainian money in something that is now unusable. And now they are trying to accuse the Armed Forces of improper storage," she concluded.
Defective mines were supplied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine
On November 6, 2024, it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine received a low-quality batch of 120 mm mines manufactured by Ukroboronprom.
On November 20, a video of mines manufactured by Ukroboronprom malfunctioning was released.
The Ministry of Defense said it was investigating the situation.
