Baerbock plans to visit China: She will talk about war in Ukraine
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock will pay a visit to China next week to discuss with her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, in particular, the Russian war against Ukraine.
According to Censor.NET, citing Ukrinform, the visit, which is scheduled for Monday, December 2, was announced at a briefing on Friday by the ministry's spokesman Christian Wagner.
"Of course, the minister will talk to her counterpart about Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine," the spokesman said.
He also noted that one of the aspects of the conversation is China's possible support for Russia in the war.
"Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine harms Europe's interests... We are concerned when third countries support Russia in its war, either with dual-use goods or weapons. This is being done in violation of international sanctions... Such support will, of course, have consequences," Wagner said.
It is worth noting that this will be the third meeting between Baerbock and Wang this year.
It is also reported that after visiting China, the German foreign minister will fly to Brussels for a meeting of NATO foreign ministers on December 3-4.
