Government allocates UAH 150 million for procurement of weapons and equipment for DIU
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated UAH 150 million from intellectual property fees for the purchase of weapons and equipment for the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
"The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to allocate UAH 150 million received by the state-owned enterprise Ukrainian Institute of Intellectual Property for actions related to the protection of intellectual property rights to purchase weapons and equipment for the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine," the statement said.
The government made this decision on November 29, 2024.
As noted, these funds were transferred to the accounts of the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Institute of Intellectual Property" in previous years as part of its functions as the National Intellectual Property Authority. In September 2024, the Verkhovna Rada authorized the transfer of unused funds, taking into account the needs of the Defense Forces.
According to the government's decision, UAH 150 million should be transferred by December 1, 2024.
As reported earlier, the State Budget for 2025 signed by the President allocates UAH 2.23 trillion to finance the Security and Defense Forces, purchase and manufacture of weapons, drones and equipment .
