In early 2025, it is absolutely possible to open two negotiation clusters with EU, - Zelenskyy
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that it is quite possible to open two negotiation clusters with the European Union early next year.
The head of state said this during a press conference at a meeting with the President of the European Council Antonio Costa, Ukrinform reports, Censor.NET reports.
The President said that next year Ukraine should do as much as possible to advance in negotiations with the European Union.
"It is absolutely realistic to open two negotiation clusters at the beginning of next year and the rest of the negotiation clusters within a year. We want this very much, and it is also absolutely possible to ensure Ukraine's gradual integration into the internal market of the European Union in parallel with the negotiation process," the Head of State said.
The President also noted that a just peace is impossible without Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
"We must all remember that real security is impossible without geopolitical certainty. That is why I am grateful to all the countries, all the leaders who support our work on negotiations with the European Union on Ukraine's accession and on Ukraine's invitation to NATO. These are things of principle. Geopolitical certainty for Ukraine can be the biggest anti-war step," Zelenskyy said.
Earlier, the former head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that Ukraine was making good progress on its path to EU membership, as evidenced by a positive report provided by the European Commission. The next stages of negotiations on "specific clusters" will begin in 2025.
