Massive strike on military facilities in Crimea: Ukraine uses at least 40 long-range missiles and drones - Forbes
On 29 November, Ukraine used Storm Shadow cruise missiles, modified S-200s and drones to create gaps in Russian air defences.
According to Censor.NET, Forbes analyst David Axe wrote about this.
He stressed that one of the key goals of the attack was to force the Russian military to deploy additional air defence assets to the peninsula to weaken air defences in other parts of the frontline, in particular in Kursk and Donetsk regions.
It is noted that during the attack, the Ukrainian military used:
- British Storm Shadow cruise missiles fired from Su-24 bombers;
- S-200 anti-aircraft missiles modified for use as long-range surface-to-surface weapons;
- attack drones;
- unidentified ballistic missiles.
Analysts suggest that the main task of the Ukrainian Armed Forces may be to strike at Russian command posts, supply lines and key infrastructure facilities in the occupied territories of Donetsk region and Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
It is noted that it is especially important to weaken defences in Russia, where Ukrainian troops are confronting Russian units, soldiers and military equipment from North Korea.
As a reminder, on 29 November 2024, as a result of an operation by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied Crimea, successful strikes were made against expensive Russian radar systems.
