Scholz to announce aid package that is part of what was promised in October - German Defense Ministry
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will announce military assistance to Ukraine worth 650 million euros, which is part of a large package worth 1.4 billion euros promised in October.
This was stated by the spokesman for the German Ministry of Defense Mitko Muller, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"We are talking about the supplies announced back in October this year as part of a package worth 1.4 billion euros," he said.
According to Müller, the aid package will include air defense systems, such as portable MANPADS, IRIS-T SLS and SLM systems (1 more of these systems is still to be delivered); armored vehicles, such as Leopard 1 tanks, armored personnel carriers, reconnaissance drones and the first part of combat drones, winter gear, heat generators, etc.
Deputy Federal Government Spokesperson Wolfgang Büchner reminded that in 2024, Germany has allocated €8 billion for military assistance to Kyiv, and has already planned €28 billion in total since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
Scholz's visit to Kyiv
It is known that on Monday, December 2, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived in Kyiv on a visit.
"During my meeting with President Zelenskyy, I will announce further arms deliveries worth 650 million euros, which should be delivered by the end of December. We say what we will do. And we do what we say," he said.
