Air defense is needed for 20 more special facilities: Zelenskyy's statement

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine lacks air defense systems. Now they are looking for opportunities to protect two dozen special facilities.

The head of state said this at a press conference with Olaf Scholz in Kyiv, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"We talked with Olaf about strengthening air defense... And I gave one example. I'm not going to tell you publicly, because I don't want Russia to understand what I'm talking about. But I gave an example of how we are now looking to protect two dozen more special facilities. And we do not have enough air defense systems, because of the dense missile attacks," the president said.

At the same time, Zelenskyy thanked Germany for its assistance in strengthening air defense, but noted that the systems provided were not enough.

"The issue is not in Germany. The issue is in the principle of partners, there are partners who maintain air defense systems," the head of state added.

Earlier it was reported that Germany would transfer two more IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine by the end of the year.
