UAH 87 billion allocated for UAVs procurement in 2024, including UAH 59 billion for long-range ones – Defense Ministry
In 2024, the Ministry of Defense allocated UAH 87 billion for the purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles, including UAH 59 billion for long-range deepstrike drones.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense, Censor.NET reports.
"The Ministry of Defense is accelerating the procurement of electronic warfare and UAVs. In 2024, suppliers received the first contracts from the Ministry of Defense in less than three months from the date of codification: 82% of electronic warfare systems and 41% of UAV types," the statement said.
These are such types of electronic warfare systems as UAV countermeasures, tactical (trench) electronic warfare systems, hardware and software systems for countering UAVs, as well as various types of UAVs.
"More than 27% of the electronic warfare systems were contracted in less than one month after the codification, which indicates effective interaction between the Ministry of Defense and manufacturers," the Ministry of Defense noted.
