During the meeting, NATO foreign ministers managed to identify those air defense systems that could be transferred to Ukraine as soon as possible.

This was stated during a press conference by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhyi, RBC-Ukraine reports, Censor.NET informs.

According to Tykhyi, a number of key topics were discussed at the meeting of NATO foreign ministers at NATO headquarters. Among them was military support and, in particular, strengthening Ukraine's air defense.

The spokesperson reminded that Ukraine urgently needs to receive 20 HAWK, NASAMS and IRIS-T systems to protect critical energy infrastructure. The official noted that this reinforcement is needed by the end of the year.

"I can say that following the ministerial talks at NATO headquarters, we managed to identify a number of such systems, missiles and other equipment that can be transferred to Ukraine in a short time," the spokesman said.

Tykhyi added that active work with partners is underway to implement these steps.

The day before, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that Ukraine urgently needs at least 20 air defense systems. With these systems, Ukraine wants to protect strategic energy facilities from Russian attacks.
