Russian troops are trying to surround Pokrovsk rather than attack it head-on.

Censor.NET editor-in-chief Yurii Butusov said this in his video.

According to him, the enemy also has problems with ammunition, so the occupiers do not continuously shell the city.

"A large part of Pokrovsk, as well as a large part of Selydove and Novohrodivka, has not been destroyed. The enemy is trying to save ammunition, not to get involved in street battles, not to attack the city head-on. That is why they are trying to concentrate and bypass and surround Pokrovsk on a narrow front.

If they capture Shevchenko and Novotroitske now, and enter Pishchane, Pokrovsk will actually be surrounded. Because the road will be under the control of enemy drones, there will be convenient positions for the accumulation of troops. And they will easily surround Pokrovsk," the journalist explained.

Butusov noted that instead of deploying troops to their positions a week before, they wait until the last minute.

"They lie that everything is fine. And then they throw troops instead of defending themselves into counter-battles in the landings. On the positions that the enemy has already captured," added the editor-in-chief of Censor.NET.

Society, Butusov stressed, must demand changes in military management from the authorities.

"It is outdated. It is incompetent and inadequate. If we don't apply the US Army's TC 25-20 standard, i.e. after action review, we will not develop. We are not learning, we are repeating the same mistake. Near Bakhmut, defence areas were surrendered without a fight because the troops gathered in the landings and did not occupy favourable positions. Near Sieverodonetsk, Lysychansk, Avdiivka...

Remember how many times the military and political leadership told us that the troops from Avdiivka were moving to favourable positions. Now they have withdrawn, they have already withdrawn beyond Selydove, to a landing zone near Pokrovsk, 38 km away. The situation is critical, and we need to make every effort to ensure that our troops go to the frontline under the protection of drones. We need to have night mavics to monitor the enemy's movements at night. We need to have mavics autels to monitor and intercept enemy drones that make drops, look for enemy infantry on the approaches and fight with equipment, not people," he concluded.
