Former Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin will be appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to the Netherlands.

This was reported on Friday, 13 December, by "Suspilne", citing a source in the president's team, Censor.NET informs.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to appoint former Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin as Ukraine's ambassador to the Netherlands.

At the same time, the source added that the decision on a candidate for the post of Prosecutor General to replace Kostin has not yet been made.

Also, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak from the "Voice" party said that Kostin would be appointed ambassador to the Netherlands.

Dismissal of Kostin

On 22 October 2024, Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin resigned. This happened against the backdrop of investigations into the spread of information that 50 prosecutors in Khmelnytskyi region had illegally received disability status.

On 28 October, President Zelenskyy submitted a draft resolution to the Rada to dismiss the Prosecutor General.

On 29 October, the Verkhovna Rada supports Kostin's dismissal.

On 31 October, President Zelenskyy signs a decree dismissing Andrii Kostin from the post of Prosecutor General.
