UK announces new aid package for Ukraine

The UK has announced military aid to Ukraine worth £225 million ($286 million). The package will include boats and drones for the navy, as well as air defence, electronic warfare and spare parts.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by Reuters.

The aid package will be distributed in several areas:

  • 92 million for equipment to strengthen Ukraine's naval forces, including small boats, reconnaissance drones, unmanned surface vessels, unmanned munitions and mine countermeasures drones.
  • £68 million for air defence equipment, including radars, ground camouflage equipment and electronic drone warfare systems.
  • 26 million for support and spare parts for systems previously delivered to Ukraine.
  • 39 million to provide more than 1,000 electronic warfare systems against drones and to jointly purchase respirators and equipment to strengthen the defence capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The UK also said it would offer Ukraine more training for its military.

"The brave people of Ukraine continue to defy all expectations with their indomitable spirit. But they can't go it alone - that's why the UK will step up its international leadership on Ukraine throughout 2025," said UK Defence Secretary John Healey.

As a reminder, the new NATO command in Wiesbaden, Germany, has already begun coordinating Western military assistance to Ukraine.
