Zelenskyy to ask EU for protection of several facilities in Ukraine, but also counts on US
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy intends to discuss the protection of the Ukrainian energy sector, which is a top priority for Ukraine, at a meeting of the European Council in Brussels.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by European Pravda.
"We need unity in the European Union in support of Ukraine," the president explained.
Zelenskyy added that he would address the leaders with several requests.
"The top priority for us is to protect our energy sector, I'm talking primarily about nuclear power plants. If something goes wrong, it is very dangerous for us and for Europe. We will also talk about how to protect gas storage facilities, which is also important for us and for Europe," he said.
In particular, the Ukrainian president will ask his EU counterparts to supply new air defence systems to protect two dozen strategic facilities.
