Bill on demobilization is ready, but its implementation is impossible - Defense Ministry
Bill on demobilisation has been developed and prepared for submission to the Verkhovna Rada.
This was announced by First Deputy Minister of Defence Ivan Havryliuk, Censor.NET reports citing Suspilne Novyny.
According to him, demobilisation is currently impossible due to the lack of sufficient reserve forces to replace the military at the front.
"Until we prepare reserves of military personnel to replace those who are currently fighting on the frontline, it is almost impossible to do so, as this will lead to the loss of the state," Havryliuk said.
What preceded it?
Earlier, members of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence reported that the government had been instructed to draft a bill that would define the procedure and conditions for discharging military personnel from service. However, due to the unpredictable timing of the active phase of the war, it is difficult to say when this document will be adopted.
People`s Deputies emphasize the importance of rotation for soldiers who have been at the front for several years. At the same time, the Ministry of Defence emphasizes that the development of reserve forces is a key condition for the start of demobilisation.
