MFA on Russia’s strike on Kyiv: Putin confirms "honorary title" awarded to him by Zelenskyy
Russia's strike on Kyiv is a confirmation of the "title" that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy conferred on Russian dictator Putin the day before.
This was stated by Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi during a briefing, Censor.NET reports.
"Today began with loud explosions in the capital. Another vile attack with five ballistic missiles on Kyiv. We can say that Putin has confirmed the honorary title conferred on him yesterday by the President of Ukraine," he said.
Tykhyi reminded that Russia struck not only Kyiv, but also Kryvyi Rih, Kherson and other cities.
"In Kyiv, the shelling damaged one of the most prominent monuments - St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. We have already informed our international partners about these strikes and their consequences.
In addition, a number of embassies have been damaged as a result of the shelling of Kyiv today. All of these embassies are located in the same building, which was heavily damaged. These are the embassies of Albania, Argentina, Palestine, North Macedonia, Portugal and Montenegro. Windows, doors, and fragments of ceilings were smashed in the premises. This is an absolutely barbaric attack by Russia on diplomatic institutions. Everywhere in the world, this is a crossing of all possible red lines and international rules. Russia confirms its status as an absolute barbarian," the spokesman summarized.
