YouTube is actually blocked in Russia

There are problems with YouTube in Russia. Experts say that the video hosting service is actually being blocked.

This is reported by the Russian service of the BBC, Censor.NET informs.

YouTube traffic in Russia has dropped to 20% of the norm. Google's monitoring service now shows 8.5 points for Russian traffic.

Experts note that before the slowdown, this figure was 40 points. So we can talk about a real blocking of YouTube.

Russia started restricting YouTube in the summer. Initially, Rostelecom explained the slowdown in video upload speeds by "technical problems with equipment owned by Google," but later the authorities admitted that the slowdown was intentional. The latest, most serious wave of slowdowns began last week and is still ongoing.
