Southern Defense Forces on threat of enemy offensive on Kherson: no necessary forces and means have been recorded so far
To attack Kherson, the enemy needs to concentrate a large number of forces and assets on the captured left bank. As of now, no such forces have been recorded.
This was stated by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesman of the Southern Defense Forces, in a commentary to Suspilne, Censor.NET reports.
"It is quite difficult to hide such forces and means. In fact, it is impossible. Especially for modern intelligence means. Even 100 soldiers, if they are hidden somewhere in a settlement, will be very difficult to hide. I'm not talking about the large-sized vehicles that the occupiers need to transport tanks and armored personnel carriers. They are not currently being recorded," said Voloshyn.
According to him, the number of Russian troops in the Prydniprovske direction remains constant. However, the occupiers are constantly replenishing their losses and conducting rotations.
"The enemy is constantly training, preparing, and coaching the personnel of the groups to conduct assault operations. And not only on land, but also at one of the training grounds, the enemy is training to overcome water obstacles. That is, in order to make a forced crossing of the Dnipro River and some straits. However, these are small groups of infantry - up to 10 people. They are using motor boats and other small watercraft," said the Southern Defense Forces spokesman.
Every day, Russian assault groups try to land in the island area on the right bank, but to no avail.
"For several months, these attempts have never been successful. Not even once. The Ukrainian defense forces are constantly destroying them, the enemy is suffering losses in manpower and in boats. Therefore, the occupiers have not been able to move to the right bank yet," Voloshyn said.
Earlier he informed that the Russians have become more active on Velykyi Potomkin island. Kherson RMA also reported that enemy subversive reconnaissance groups tried to advance in the direction of Kherson.
