Ukraine’s air defence shot down 113 targets, including 54 "Shahed" drones - Air Force. INFOGRAPHICS
On the night of 25 December, the Ukrainian Air Force successfully repelled a combined attack by Russian missiles and drones. 113 air targets were shot down, including cruise missiles and attack drones.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In total, the radio engineering troops of the Air Forces of Ukraine detected and escorted 184 enemy air targets:
- 2 KN-23 ballistic missiles (launch area - Voronezh region);
- 10 S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles (launch area - Belgorod region)
- 12 "Kalibr" cruise missiles (from the Black Sea area);
- 50 Kh-101/Kh-55sm cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers (launch area - Volgograd region, Caspian Sea);
- 4 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided aerial missiles from tactical aircraft (launch area - Belgorod region - the Russian Federation);
- 106 "Shahed" attack UAVs/imitator drones of various types (from Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk districts - the Russian Federation).
Anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare (EW) equipment and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force were involved in the operation to neutralise them. As of 12:00, the downing was confirmed:
- 55 cruise missiles of the Kh-101, Kh-55sm and "Kalibr" types;
- 4 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided aerial missiles;
- 54 attack UAVs, including "Shahed".
Another 52 drones failed to reach their targets due to loss of control or other technical reasons.
It is also noted that 42 missiles were shot down by Ukrainian defenders of the sky over the Dnipropetrovsk region today.
The Russians attacked energy facilities in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. There are reports of damage as a result of the attacks, but details are being clarified.
