Russian troops unsuccessfully try to land on islands in Khers

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to keep the island part of the Dnipro River in Kherson region under fire control.

This was reported by Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, during the United News telethon, Censor.NET reports.

According to him, the Russians make 5 to 7 assault attempts a day, but these actions are more like reconnaissance and search operations. Two or three boats with up to seven people on board approach the landing site. Their goal is to launch an assault on our shore, particularly in the island zone, such as Kozatsky Island.

"The enemy is trying to drive our defenders out of there. Almost all of this area is under the fire control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces - the island zone of the Dnipro, so the enemy has no success," Voloshyn said.

At the same time, he emphasized that in order to organize a large-scale offensive on Kherson, Russian forces would have to force the Dnipro, which requires a lot of resources and training.

"In order to force it (the river - ed.), it is necessary to gather enough forces and means, which are very difficult to hide with today's intelligence tools. At the moment, our intelligence has not detected and cannot say that the enemy has gathered enough offensive forces and means to force the Dnipro," the spokesman added.
