Biden on strikes on Ukraine on Christmas Day

After Russia's missile strike on Ukraine on Christmas Day, President Joe Biden promised that the United States would continue to increase the supply of weapons to our country, including air defence missiles.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Ukrinform.

"In the first hours of Christmas, Russia launched waves of missiles and drones at Ukrainian cities and critical energy infrastructure. The goal of this outrageous attack was to cut off Ukrainians from access to heat and electricity in the winter, as well as to undermine the security of the power grid," the US president said in a statement released by the White House.

Biden stressed that the Ukrainian people deserve to live in peace and security. Therefore, the United States and the international community should continue to support Ukraine until it defeats Russia.

"In recent months, the United States has provided hundreds of air defence missiles to Ukraine, with more on the way. I have ordered the Department of Defence to continue to increase the supply of weapons to Ukraine, and the United States will work tirelessly to strengthen Ukraine's defence against Russian troops," the American leader said.

As a reminder, on the night of 25 December, Russian invaders launched a combined missile attack on the energy sector facilities in Ukraine.
