Occupiers try to surround Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kupiansk

The Russians want to take Kupiansk to enter from the rear and surround the Ukrainian forces. The situation in the Kharkiv sector is difficult but under control.

According to Censor.NET, this was stated by Oleksandr Danylenko, head of the media relations group of the "Gart" brigade of the State Border Guard Service, on the "Kyiv24" TV channel.

"All the assault actions taking place in Vovchansk and the surrounding area are aimed at crossing the Vovcha River. They cannot be allowed to do so. Firstly, this will create the preconditions for the creation of a so-called buffer zone... The Russians also want to create the preconditions for an advance on Kupiansk - to come in from the rear and surround our group of troops defending Kupiansk. We are countering these attempts," said Danylenko.

As a reminder, according to the General Staff, seven militant attacks took place in the Kupiansk sector on 25 December. Defence forces repelled the enemy's assault actions near Dvorichna, Pishchane, Kolisnykivka and Lozova. The enemy is trying to use its numerical superiority.
