Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has stated that he wants the war in Ukraine to end. However, next year Russia will continue to "achieve all the goals of the special military operation."

He said this at a press conference following a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, as quoted by Russian media, Censor.NET reports.

"Russia will continue to achieve all the goals of the special operation in 2025, this is the number one task," the Russian dictator said.

At the same time, he cynically added that "Russia seeks to end the conflict in Ukraine."

The Kremlin leader also said that the Oreshnik strikes on Ukraine were allegedly retaliatory measures.

We always answer with mirror measures . Weapons are used against us, and we use the same. Listen, they used 5-7 ATACMS systems. The Russian army launched 221 strikes. If we see that we need to use more powerful medium-range weapons, we will certainly use them," he said.

Asked whether he believes that Russia will end the war in 2025 with a victory, Putin said that "I believe in God, and God is with us."

In addition, the dictator commented on the statements of US President-elect Donald Trump and his team that the war "can be frozen if Ukraine's accession to NATO is postponed."

"I don't know what the team of the US president-elect is saying now. I know what Biden told me back in 2021. He offered me exactly that, to postpone it for 10-15 years, because it is not ready now. To which I replied that, yes, it is not ready now, but you will prepare it and accept it. For us, what difference does it make today or in 10 years? I'm not familiar with the statements of the future team, but if that's the case, what's the difference between the current administration and the proposals you mentioned. There is no difference," Putin said.
