Zelenskyy appoints Vitrenko as Ukraine’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna

On Thursday, December 26, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Yurii Vitrenko as Ukraine's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna. The career diplomat is a full namesake of the former head of Naftogaz.

The corresponding decree No. 881/2024 was published on the website of the President's Office, Censor.NET reports.

"To appoint Vitrenko Yurii Volodymyrovych as Permanent Representative of Ukraine to International Organizations in Vienna," the document says.

What is known about Yurii Vitrenko?

Previously, Yurii Vitrenko was the Deputy Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations. Then he headed the Main Department for Foreign Policy Activities of the Directorate for Foreign Policy and Strategic Partnership of the Presidential Office.

As a reminder, on December 21, Zelenskyy canceled the decision to appoint Emine Dzhaparova as Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna.

Also on December 21, Zelenskyy dismissed Ukrainian diplomats in a number of countries and representatives of Ukraine in international organizations. The President signed decrees appointing new ambassadors.
