Over year, occupiers have advanced 40 km in Pokrovsk direction, suffering huge losses, - former deputy commander of 24th SAB "Aidar"
During the year of war, the Russian occupiers managed to advance only 40 km in the Pokrovsk direction, spending a huge amount of manpower.
This was stated by the former deputy platoon commander of the "Aidar" battalion and military analyst Yevhen Dykyi on Radio NV, Censor.NET reports.
"In fact, the enemy's progress for the whole year is very insignificant. In the best area, first Avdiivka, and then further from the occupied Avdiivka to Pokrovsk - this is the best direction for them. In this direction, they have advanced about 40 km in a year. That is, in a full year. At the same time, they have put down about the size of two or three small European armies," he stressed.
According to him, the occupiers have achieved even less success in other areas. In particular, they threatened Kupyansk but failed to capture the city. Moreover, the Russians are experiencing an acute crisis in the supply of equipment and artillery, which affects their capabilities.
The analyst also noted that the only rapid offensive during the year was carried out by the Ukrainian army, while Russian troops were not able to break through the front even once.
"But, in no place did the front crumble. In no place did they break through it," Dykyi said.
According to Dykyi, the replenishment of Russian reserves has significantly decreased, and losses have reached a peak. He stressed that the strategic achievements of the Russian army are minimal, and the state of its forces has deteriorated significantly compared to the beginning of the year.
"At the same time, they have reached the point where by the end of the year they are already facing a huge crisis in armour, a huge crisis in artillery, and although there are still enough people to spare, they are enough for a very clear time perspective. Meanwhile, replenishment has practically dipped, almost stopped. And hence such hysterical decisions as, for example, buying Korean cannon fodder."
At the same time, Dykyi warned that Ukraine is facing a shortage of personnel, as mobilisation reserves have not been replenished in a timely manner.
"We have been failing to replenish our army all year. And thus, we have reached the point where the entire frontline is constantly sagging because we physically lack people, and meanwhile we do nothing to get these people there," he said.
As a reminder, over the past day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated almost 500 occupiers in the Pokrovsk sector alone.
